Complete the Module 8: DOCUMENT ACCESSIBILITY – PDF checklist to make sure you’ve completed all of the required and additional/optional tasks.

Before Class

  1. Required Readings
    There are no required readings this week.
  2. Additional Readings
    The optional readings are provided to support further learning and understanding around converting documents into accessible PDFs. These resources support PDFs created using Adobe Acrobat. These readings are not required of you; however they will benefit your understanding of the content being discussed in class.
  3. Required Watching
    The required watching is mandatory and so beneficial to your understanding of how accessible PDFs are created. Students are required to watch these videos BEFORE class.
  4. Additional Watching
    There are no optional videos to watch this week.
  5. Attend
    Each week the PowerPoint being presented in class will be provided in advance for your consideration and support your note taking efforts. The PowerPoint does not provide all of the information, notes will be required of each student. Participation in class activities will support learning and understanding, please make sure you attend all classes.

After Class

  1. Complete
    Time in class will be given to complete your Document Accessibility: PDF assignment, however if you did not complete it in class please make sure you complete it by the due date.

Create journalism content using Universal Design which will be accessible in all formats including digital audio, video, and print media, and web content. Articulate the disability perspective through integrated learning opportunities applicable to the field of journalism. Identify the principles and practices of pertinent legislation and standard Web guidelines. Demonstrate the appropriate professionalism.
